Sätergläntan Hemslöjdens gård changes name to Sätergläntan Institute of handicrafts (“Sätergläntan” for short). The implementation of the new name with associated visual identity is planned to be completed in March with a new website launched this summer.
New name and new visual identity
As of 6 March 2015, Sätergläntan Hemslöjdens gård is changing names to Sätergläntan Institute of Crafts (”Sätergläntan” for short). The decision on the name change is made to more clearly show Sätergläntans main focus on education and its unique position in promoting handicraft traditions.
With the name change, Sätergläntan will also implement a transition to the visual identity used by Sätergläntan’s principal Hemslöjden (National Association of Swedish Handicraft Societies). The phasing in of the new visual identity and logo are expected to be implemented in March but completed with the launch of a new website in the summer of 2015.
“With the name change and the new visual identity, we focus on Sätergläntan’s unique role in the preservation and development of handicrafts, in a multicultural world,” said Renee Rudebrant, principal and director of the Sätergläntan. “Our strength is that we combine a thorough knowledge of materials, techniques and tools that have historically been used in handicrafts while we simultaneously have a bold playfulness in how they apply today.”
