New Website and Webshop
In July we launched Sätergläntan’s new website and webshop. We hope that the website will reflect the vibrant and creative environment that is Sätergläntan. We plan to extend it further with time to create a virtual community for anyone interested in or working with crafts.
Please find information about our courses here (language of instruction is Swedish unless otherwise stated): http://www.saterglantan.com/utbildningar/korta-utbildningar/ You sign up for a course on the individual course page and by then adding it to the cart. When you are done with your selections of courses and/or products in the webshop, continue to checkout.
Our webshop has a selection of nearly 1,000 products that are sold in Sätergläntan’s crafts store. They can be purchased here (in Swedish, for delivery addresses outside of the Nordic countries please contact us prior to purchase for a quote of delivery charges): http://www.saterglantan.com/butik/.

Doing Crafts Together
In July 4 courses in as many weeks were held for children ages 8-12 years to allow them to try doing woodcrafts, felting, wire crafts, making whistles and much more. They were taught by our teachers Anja Sundberg, Berit Kvarnlind, Sara Alkeby and Helena Bratt and, naturally, from each other too. In one of the courses, the children sewed hand puppets and made stage decorations for a theatre play that they performed towards the end of the week. Here is a selection of images from the courses and a brief clip from the play.
Create Your Own Underwater Backdrop
Helena Bratt shares how they made the backdrop for the theatre play: “We used an old pallet that I cut in half, then we painted the frame with some left-over paint that I had from another project. I then made holes in the frame, both up and down, that we used to insert the warp threads through, we used cotton yarn, and then fixed it at the beginning and the end with a small wooden stick that I simply tied it around. We used all kinds of things for the weft, for example, seaweed was made of old cassette tapes.”
